Christoph Baker

Christoph Baker is a consultant for humanitarian and environmentalist organisations. He is the National Coordinator for "Child-Friendly Cities Programme", the Italian Committee for UNICEF. Much of Christoph's work has explored the experience of children and young people, safeguarding and promoting their rights and contributing to the improvements of their living conditions. Christoph's concern for the future of mankind lead him to fight for children's rights; as a matter of fact the main task of UNICEF is that of affecting institutions such as Government, Parliament, Regions and Cities in order that they could enact acts and policies concerning the "Children's Rights Convention". Christoph's commitment for children extends to the whole world, with initiatives in the Americas and the Caribbean, the Middle East and Africa, Asia and the Pacific and other industrialized countries in Europe and the Baltic States. He has written critical essays on development and was national coordinator of the Campaign "North-South, biosphere, people survival and debt". In 2010 he won the National Prize for Non-Violence. He cooperates with the magazine "Nonviolent Action" of the "Nonviolent Movement", for which he writes the monthly section "The Chalice".
