WE ARE PROUD TO PRESENT THE PRESIDENT
OF THE INTERNATIONAL COURT OF JUSTICE FOR GEMUN 2026

ICJ Presentation Letters

Dear attendees of GeMUN 2026,
We are Alice De Marchi and Costanza Nastasi, honoured to serve as President and Co-President of the ICJ.

We have been participating in GeMUN since our first year of school, and we are now attending our fifth and fourth year at Liceo Linguistico Internazionale Grazia Deledda. We are often asked: what is the ICJ?
ICJ stands for International Court of Justice, and it is the main judicial body of the United Nations, responsible for solving disputes between States. The ICJ was established in 1945 by the Charter of the United Nations; its founding statute, the Statute of the International Court of Justice, is part of the UN Charter. The official ICJ is composed of 15 judges (each from a different nation) and its Presidency.
During this year’s GeMUN, our Court will be composed of 13 judges, 4 advocates, the Registrar, the Co-President, and the President. The Court will work on this year’s case, which will remain confidential until the conference in order to allow the judges, who are responsible for iscussing the case, to remain free of any preconceptions.

We wish everyone a memorable experience at GeMUN 2026.

Sincerely yours,
The President and Co-President of the ICJ
